About Can Tho:
The largest town in the Mekong Delta, located 165 km. southwest of Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho is a good place to observe river life. It’s an important transport hub for the surrounding towns and villages. Great photo opportunities in the surrounding area - small villages, bicycle paths, green countryside criss-crossed by local canals and floating markets. Other attractions include the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Central Market and the Cantonese Congregation Pagoda.
Vibrant green rice paddies, palms trees, orchards lie along the Mekong delta, Vietnam's rice bowl, the area is criss-crossed by canals and rivers. Take a boat trip along the waterways or go sightseeing around this fascinating area. The outlying towns in the delta are less attractive but no less fascinating. Attractions include floating markets. Best visited Dec - May.
